Yes he does and after Rd3 as in the game Smith plays Nd4 after which Black Plays Qd7. White then plays NxN...Bxc6.... White plays 25.Rc5 Be7 26.Rc1 Bg5 27Rcd1 Rad8 and Black has the disired control on the D file which probably forces the move of the h pawn but not to h4 as in the game Other moves (other than Rd3) must therefore miss the point
