As other post answer the question of underpromotion, I think I'll mention that when people here bring it up, its usually in relation to the Junior program, which does not yet have the code for reconizing when it would be more benificial to underpromote in order to win the game more quickly, or at all. (Just about every other top program does calculate underpromotion lines) Amazingly, the program appears to play incredibly strongly anyway, (Kramnik said some complimentry stuff about it in the last Chess Base Magazine, and it has won the World Micro Computer Championship), and so people wonder how much even more strong it might be if this small feature is added to the next version. mrslug - the inkompetent chess software addict!
