My Current Workhorse portable as of late,is the newly released Novag Star Sapphire My daily commute by train is about 1 hour each way so i generally play at a time level of game /15-20min this morning i was on the black side of a Petroff and i reached this position after 37 moves in a Game/20min: [D] 4r1k1/pppq1p1p/6p1/4b3/2Q5/2P1B3/PP3PPP/R5K1 b - - 0 1 A smile crept into my face(always good on a crowded train as then no one will sit next to you) remembering Fischer-Spassky 1972 Game 1 and Fischers ill-fated snatching of Spassky's rook pawn with his bishop ,i just knew the SS would swallow my QR pawn ..with that in mind i played .. 1... Rd8 the SS after a few seconds beeped happily and played.. 2. Bxa7 [D]3r2k1/Bppq1p1p/6p1/4b3/2Q5/2P5/PP3PPP/R5K1 b - - 0 1 the smile widened and i now had the full 3 seats for my commuting pleasure play continued.. Qd1+ 3. Qf1 Qxf1+ 4. Kxf1 b6 [D] 3r2k1/B1p2p1p/1p4p1/4b3/8/2P5/PP3PPP/R4K2 b - - 0 1 and the bishop is trapped.. 5. Re1 Bd6 6. Rd1 Kf8 [D] 3r2k1/B1p2p1p/1p1b2p1/8/8/2P5/PP3PPP/3R1K2 b - - 0 1 ..6 Ra8 immediately is wrong because of 7.Bb6 Pxb6..8.Rxd6 play proceeded.. 7.h3 Ke7 8. Rd4 Ra8 9. Ra4 Kd7 10. c4 Kc6 11. b4 Kb7 [D] r7/Bkp1bp1p/1p4p1/8/RP6/6PP/P4P2/5K2 b - - 0 1 and not only are all of the seats mine, but no so is the White Bishop play ended with.. 12. c5 Be7 13. c6+ Kxc6 14. g3 Kb7 15. a3 Rxa7 16. Rxa7+ Kxa7 FINAL POSITION [D] 8/k1p1bp1p/1p4p1/8/1P6/6PP/P4P2/5K2 b - - 0 1 I am ahead a full Bishop SS soon resigned now i realize of course that the SS didn't play perfect chess after taking the Rook pawn and i imagine that most if not all of todays PC chess progs would probably not take the pawn ..they all undoubtedly have a Nabilov endgame table base (or is it a Tabilov Navel Base??)where positions like this are stored so they know to avoid pawn grabs like this.. but this is what makes playing a Dedicated computer FUN there is a chance..every so often .. that they will play less then perfect chess you can actually win!
