I think one of the reasons for the strange prices for some computer chess sets on eBay is the fact that, as far as I know, there isn't really a reference 'book' on that. We do have walking encyclopedias like Steve B here and possibly some scant references on the web in things like Kurt's site but there's nothing like a "blue book" of computer chess. I'm actually afraid that even if we had such a reference source, some items would still have some artificial inflated prices based on supply and demand. I mean, how often do we some some rarities on eBay? Speaking of that, since eBay is pretty much "the" site for auctions, it also drives everyone there. So, other than scouring garage sales and some second hand stores (minimal chance of finding anything here!) there's only the option of buying or trading items with other collectors! And it was said before "collectors don't sell"! Loving the machines, I wish we had mass produced computers today with features we only find in old ones, to bring the price down! I wouldn't mind that thousands of those were made! I would still enjoy them. I know that with PCs + chess software, this is very unlikely to happen. Cheers, Ismenio
