As we no longer have manual operators we can (and should) think about changing it. I think that it is still good to have an increment otherwise we are likely to see programs losing on time, or games degenerate into crazy time scrambles, and nobody likes that. I would therefore suggest a small increment somewhere between 2 and 5 seconds.
