Hi Stuart,

I am working in IT business, have here an own company and make different things
(not important here).

The most stabil systems are easy Intel system, like Celeron for office software
or Pentium IV systems. The systems works more stabil in my opinion but AMD made
big jumpings in the latest two years.

The most companys have the clear wish "Please an Intel system".

Other interest in the private computer area. The "gamer" have more interst on
Athlon systems with "overclocking boards, like Asus or MSI). The normally group
of persons made office, internet and only different other things with a PC
system. The hardware interest of this group of persons is totaly different.

Reason for me:
The temparature of Athlon system are to high, with Athlon hardware a company
have more problems (more garantie cases). In an older company I know very good
:-) I know the statistics from defect hardware. For me it very important that I
have a stabil system. I am very happy with my Pentium III 733Mhz with a Tyon
dual board. I used this system for computer chess around three years. The two
years still running CCE tourney is running on this system and the machine works
and works ... never I have a problem (only one harddisk are defect, I believe
the normally tablebase problems if you used a harddisk a longer time with
5-pieces tablebases each day).

But in the lastest year I like the Athlon processors too.
I have here an Athlon 64 3.4, Athlon 2.8 + and Athlon 3.2 +. In all system I
used MSI boards and all systems works fine. At the moment I have only a problem
with an PIV 3.06 system :-)

I have nothing against AMD processors since the latest years but I prefer more
the Intel systems for notbooks, dual machines and one processor systems because
the temperature is not so hight and I am thinking in combination with a complete
hardware system I have not to many problems with time with defect hardware. I
used for chess normally Intel system and only one of the Athlon I have.

Best
Frank
