You need to try newer programs.  I can give you a pointer to _one_ that doesn't
behave as you describe.  There are others.  You should check out the 'patzer
challenge' going on with Crafty where a (estimated) 1500 player is trying to
see if he can do just what you are suggesting.  So far it is either 0-9 or 0-10
for the result... and all he wants to make his point is one draw in 100 games.
