After what you said about playing a game via the printer I got the Savant out of the loft and had another try. I had put it away soon after I got it as there was apparently no hope. Well... There is apparently no hope. I eventually got the screen to light up but it only shows some difficult to decipher pieces. Once connected the printer chatters away ceaselessly. Neither Savant nor printer react to any key, combination of keys or touch screen. It is a crying shame :( The Savant is such a gorgeous bit of Retro kit. Amazing for its year 1981. Unfortunately too amazing to be reliably manufactured. Never you mind this is still one of my treasures. Steve I never did find out in exactly what respect the machine first was found to be defective. Was the screen failing to show the pieces properly, the touch screen aspect or everything? If it has any relevance the Roms in my machine are 56051E, 56061F and 56071E. Mike
