I am guessing that at least 3/4 of the entrants will have a machine as fast as a
single processor from his quad.

Some will probably run faster CPUs or pushed CPUs.

But to really get the horsepower, you would need the SMP capability.

Maybe Dr. Hyatt can get an 8-way box.  Then everyone else can play for 2nd.

Of course, you never know -- especially in a short contest.  It isn't always the
fastest guy who wins the race.

And someone may come up with a stunning innovation.  I do marvel at Thinker --
which is the size of TSCP and the strength of Crafty.  You never know when a new
Ruffian will pop up.
