Yes, right now playing a pretry well made dedicated unit called "Alexandra the Great" programmed by Ron Nelson, the very same guy that programmed so historical pieces as were Chess Challenger 1, 3, 7, 10 and Voice in the 70's and 80's. Do not ask me why I developped in a sudden the desire to get a dedicated unit and what is more, this one between the many available. Probably an outburst of nostalgy. I still reemember the day I saw for the first time a CC7 unit in a fotographic store in santiago that for some reason imported the machine. And my first games againts that unit, probably no better than 1300 Elo. Those were the days. You could win and nevertheless, you still could lose if you did not put some attention to the board. Only 1300 it was, yes, but steady 1300, always ready to get you with a cheap 3 plys combination if possible. So here it is this machine programmed by Ron Nelson, this time one lot stronger than thoe of his prime years as much faster is the processor -those were the dayz of Zylog-80 processor running at perhapd 1,2 Mgz, 4 Kb ROM- and surely Nelson has made part of his craft the many new techniques developped in these years. It is a nice impression this one, the plastic toy in my desk, the scent of a new thing, the voice, the moves, the phantom of Nelson mind, the exhilarion of past years. And all this for just some bucks. Later I will tell you of the quality of the game. Fernando, playing his new toy
