Günther, Thanks for asking about Monarch. Yes I'm still developing Monarch!! It's coming up to the Christmas season so hopefully I'll have some cave time to devote to my little beast. The reason I haven't released a new version is due to little real progress - lots of programming but little progress :-(( However, the good news is that I recently completely rewrote the search to simplify and make it cleaner. This seems to have had a positive impact on the search quality (e.g. better branching factor and improved stability of search). I'm still not 100% satisfied since it's nowhere near as good as Fruit or Glaurung but it's a good basis for improvement. I'll do some more testing / debugging and promise to release a new version in the next month. As regards the time management problem; I have never tried to use Monarch with Polyglot. It's on my to-do list and Polyglot is the main reason why I have only implemented UCI. I'll try to investigate for the next release. Regards, Steve Maughan
