Hello Melvin,
I have no personal knowledge of the Novag Diamond but your question about Mr
Kaufman's assumption seems to require a comment.  I doubt if Mr.Kaufman made any
assumptions without extensive testing or personal knowledge.  His opinions are
highly regarded in the chess community.  In my opinion anyway.
