It would seem that in some cases, newer versions are brought out with only a little improvement over the previous version. Chess Tiger 4 elo, Fritz 11 elo and shredder 2 elo. They are not that far different to the SSDF list below : 1 Shredder 8.0 CB 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2818 2 Shredder 7.04 UCI 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2809 3 Deep Fritz 8.0 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2790 4 Junior 8.0 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2782 5 Shredder 7.0 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2772 6 Deep Fritz 7.0 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2769 7 Fritz 8.0 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2759 8 Deep Junior 8.0 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2749 9 Hiarcs 9.0 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2747 10 Fritz 7.0 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2744 Shredder 7.04 to 8 = 9 elo and Fritz 7 to 8 15 elo. Lets hope that shredder 9 and Fritz 9 are not released until there is a better improvement in playing strength. Regards Mike
