Hello Geoff, >1) Easy to run long round-robin or Swiss tournaments >2) Automatically produced html results tables >3) Ability to use fixed Nunn game openings to reduce randomness >4) Pgn files that contain the search depth and thinking time for later game >analysis. This is one feature I really miss when downloading Leo's Winboard >competition pgn's to try and figure out why I lost :-( I would have no aversion to continuing this discussion "off-air". Items 1, 2 and 4 are available with Winboard in conjunction with an appropriate tournament manager. You can get the html table as well as a text one for easy manipulation if you like. The debug file of Winboard contains the information about thinking time etc. There is an application that can convert that debug file to pgn for feeding into your favourite analysis gui. I am not saying that the setup is any where as easy as with Arena - it isn't - but after many uses it is quite easy for me. I thank Leo of WBEC fame for that. Enjoy your coding and non-chess activities. I hope to see an engine from you soon though. Enjoy using Arena! You can roll the sleeves down now! :-) Later.
