Would it be expensive for some company to produce a dedicated unit >with some such processor? i imagine it would be expensive because there would not be many interested in actually purchasing it,so costs would not come down due to increased sales of the unit. most are interested in strength alone and for $25-$30 you can get a near Super GM PC prog to play on your already purchased computer system there is something new ,hopefully soon to be released, that will raise the bar for dedicated units that will reportedly play at about 2450-2500 Elo in strength but right now it is still in the prototype stage.
