As far as chessbase GUI:
Fritz6
Fritz7 021122
Fritz8 031202
Fritz8 040407
Fritz8 040416
Fritz8 041213
Hiarcs732

I feel no particular need to keep them on hard-drive and I do write them out to
CD on occasion. I always make a copy of my last good GUI before applying a new
patch, it's just something you've gotta do with Chessbase.

Most just consider the GUI as free and figure a new package price is the cost of
the new engine and playtime at playchess.com. BK
