all things may happen. ;-) Some more common causes:

1.) Dual- or Multiple-CPU machine. The parallel search is non-deterministic,
differences even on the same machine are to be expected.
2.) Different Hashsizes - very often the best move varies with different
hashsizes on different iterations.
3.) Hashentrieartefacts if the Hashtables weren't deleted before analyzing the
position

If you can exclue all these circumstances and can reproduce the difference we
might continue speculationg. Then it would be helpful if you could give more
specifics.
