Only Crafty have a good performance on Quad. Shredder is slower on quad if I compare the results with Crafty. Shredder loosed performance but working fine on a dual system with hyperthreading. I believe the Shredder programmer optimize his code for this constellation. I think for Crafty: 1 CPU to 2 CPU = 25-35 (more 25 as 35) ELO more 1 CPU to 4 CPU = 40-45 (more 40 as 45) ELO more Only my opinion! But you asked for Opteron Quad (never have such a system in my hands). Best Frank
