This is the message that is sometimes received from ChessBase support via email. It was again repeated here a few days ago by someone. >I cannot find any notice about this >supposed update anywhere in Chessbase website.... >Let's suppose that's true; in this case is that the latest official GUI update >for all the chessbase engines????? I don't think we can call it truly official release update we do know that it comes from ChessBase. I suggest treating it as beta update. >If it were only for Junior9, we could have in >a near future so many different guis as engines....... Is this serious? If you are installed to ChessProgram8 folder you should only have one common GUI installed. Yes, many people make a GUI folder backup before applying an update, a personal choice. That's as far as I know and of course discounting their older installation folders in use a couple of years ago. Perhaps Junior9 is now installed to ChessProgram9 folder? I don't know. The 'official' updates are generally had by logging (not as guest) onto playchess.com via the interface and then selecting the menu item 'Query Upgrade...' BK
