This is the message that is sometimes received from ChessBase support via email.
It was again repeated here a few days ago by someone.

I don't think we can call it truly official release update we do know that it
comes from ChessBase. I suggest treating it as beta update.

If you are installed to ChessProgram8 folder you should only have one common GUI
installed. Yes, many people make a GUI folder backup before applying an update,
a personal choice. That's as far as I know and of course discounting their older
installation folders in use a couple of years ago. Perhaps Junior9 is now
installed to ChessProgram9 folder? I don't know.

The 'official' updates are generally had by logging (not as guest) onto
playchess.com via the interface and then selecting the menu item 'Query
Upgrade...' BK
