Dubious pruning is pruning that cause the engine to play worse and I do not think that shredder can play better if stefan disable the pruning. Shredder may need more plies to see the same thing because of the pruning but it does not mean that the pruning that it does is dubious. It only means that you cannot compare chess depths of different programs. Uri
