Hi Franz,
not sure I'd be of much help on which setting is best for mate solving - perhaps
one with high king safety values for opponent like Judge II?
It would be interesting for you to conduct some experiments using the different
settings to solve mates to find which one is best.
My interest is purely on getting the best OTB results from Johan's fine
programs.
