Hello Graham,

you´re right, it´s really a good idea to make such special mate test with
different settings - especially because they are certainly much easier and
less time-consuming than finding out the best playing strength.
IMO all those piece values won´t have much effect for mate solving, but
good candidates might be ´avd´ and ´sel´ (and of course ´opks´ and ´opmob´).
And one advantage is, that you can see the positive or negative effect of
any setting very quick and easy: will the mate be found faster or not!

Well, then I´ll give it a try and start such a test series - maybe I´ll find
the UMS (Ultimative Mate Settings ;-))
