300 watts would run a battle ship if you only turned on one light at a time. Almost all new systems are using low powered chips including the CPU's but because of the speed that the CPU's run at they do tend to get hot. This not counting the video or sound cards. I have no idea what kind of power the use or require. One last thing to remember and that is no matter how high the system power out is rated at, the PC only uses what is necessary at the time, thus if you are just reading a long text article it may only use 10 or 20% of its capacity. These numbers could be higher I was just siting an example. Bill
