No, a standard computer will never peak higher than 300 Watt, even if burning and running chess software at the same time (it's different with high-end graphic cards). I don't recommend a 550 Watt power supply. A larger power supply will be less efficient, if you are below 300 Watt. The power supplies work most efficient if they operate near their max.
