Bruce, KarinsDad, Thanks for the wealth of information. I am running the AB and the MinMax to the same Depth. The problem occurs with my capture extension code. I go to MAXDEPTH and decide that I want to extend captures so I go deeper into the tree. All moves are generated at the next ply but only Capture moves are actually made. If there are no captures, then it is considered a leaf node and I evaluate and return the score. My belief is that both AB and Minmax should return the same score even when AB and MinMax only do Captures after MAXDEPTH. Any further comments are welcome! Larry.
