The question is simply if banning them can prevent them to cause trouble and what demage they can do by using their names that they cannot do by using faked names. Volker was polite enough to >mention their account getting banned, unlike the guys in Arena who will ban your >ip and not even tell you about it. Not relevant. The fact that the arena team does something wrong does not justify doing something wrong in the winboard forum. Note that I even did not try to get to the arena forum because I do not like what I read about what they do. > >Last but not least: >http://wbforum.volker-pittlik.name/viewtopic.php?t=1066 > ><qoute> > >Chess.......really. > >I was led to believe this was a chess forum. > >I came here to accept our correct apology and have recieved nothing but >stupidity save two .....David and Pablo. > >Respect to you both. > >I do not know why you are all here and I was invited. > >I do not expect to hang around waiting for what is right to happen. > >It should have happened long ago. > >If this is goodbye, I wish you all good chess and a better Administrator. > >My Regards to you all except one. > >The one who will delete this....because it is the truth. > >I will return and on that day this place will die. > ><qoute> > >Please do read the last sentence. > >pavs I can only say that I do not understand the last sentence because it is not logical. The only logical explanation that I can find is that christopher means:"I will return when Volker will be replaced". It is hard to understand what christopher means because of his bad english but this post can maybe justify banning one person and not banning all the arena team. I say again that banning should be done only for productive purpose and not for revenge. banning people who make bad posts can be done to prevent bad posts so it has a productive purpose. I fail to see how banning people who never posted bad posts in the winboard forum can be productive for volker or for the winboard forum. Uri
