Uri,

I think you should understand some basic concepts and respect them in spite of
your personal interests.

1. we are global chess community
2. Arena team is creating some kind of sect, having in view their future
particular commercial interests

So far it´s all right.

The problems appear when this sect, with its own fundamentalist concepts (their
future commercial interests) starts its own "religious" activity in our global
community by offending people who has different ideas about religion (computer
chess topics), or because they don´t admit any kind of "suspecious" critic, or
even because user help is interpreted as conspiracy.

I know a fellow who was banned from Arena forum for a week only because he
pointed out a wrong ECO code (a famous Conkie work, perhaps a candidate for
Nobel in future).

Another one was treated like a criminal because of pointing out a bug Arena:
he sent to the Arena forum a PGN file with a bug, but without exact names of two
engines, which were mentioned as XX and YY. He was forced to answer an
inquisition questionary which was submitted after that to Arena admin team to
decide whether the guy was illegal owner of their commercial engines or not.

These two examples shows how they were treating people who wanted to help them,
and speak a lot about the current state of "things" and "spirits" in Arena team.

That´s why I suggested to Martin Blum (here) to kick off some of Arena admins,
and make the "Arena´s air" much more refreshing.
