Hi Richard,
Could you provide some more details about what you don't understand? There are
multiple areas where someone new to the UCI protocol could have difficulty, and
each of those areas might require a very different kind of guidance to
understand. Multiple areas, such as:
* Issues specific to the UCI protocol.
Examples:
"Does this command always follow that command"?
"What if my engine doesn't ponder only a single move?"
* Issues in understanding the concept of text pipe communication protocols
in general.
Examples:
"What is standard input?"
"What is standard output?"
"What are pipes?"
* Issues in understanding the use of communication protocols in general.
Examples:
"What is a protocol?"
"Why do I need to support a protocol?"
"What kinds of protocols are there?"
* Issues specific to your choice of programming language.
Examples:
"How do I write to standard output and read from standard input in
my programming language?"
"How do I flush the standard output buffer in my language?"
Anyway, we need more details to steer you in the right direction.
