I already have >>>the chessbase Shredder installed, when I try to install the Shredder 8 UCI >>>engine I get a message "Shredder 8 already installed" How do I get them both to >>>run in this GUI? >>> >>>Thanks, >>>Paul >> >>If all your engines are in the Chessbase/Engines folder you should be able to >>run Shredder under Fritz already just by selecting it. > >I can do that with the native engine...but the UCI does not show up and when I >try to install it I get the message above.. > >Thanks You have to add it manually. Create a plain text file named "Shredder 8 UCI.UCI" with following text (do not copy the "equal signs": ========================================= [ENGINE] Name=Shredder 8 UCI Author=Stefan Meyer-Kahlen Filename=..\Engines\UCI\Shredder8\Shredder8.exe [OPTIONS] OwnBook=false ======================================== Now when you select engines, you should see "Shredder 8 UCI" as an optional engine to select.
