How many games do you get >between charges? I get 6 games at 30'. Mt tests indicate that it is almost exactly half the speed of my 400 Mhz Dell using the Genius program. Although different OS , both program appear to give the exact same analysis when using similiar hash. In additionm when I OC both units to their max, they main that relationship. Their is one difference with the Zire 31/Genius combo from the Dell/Genius, The hash on the Zire maxes out at 512K. I am amazed at how powerfull the Palm Zire is for its price -- is much thinner and ligher than the Dell and to think it it can run this powerful wiyth it being so thing is amazing . It is much more powerful than the 32 Mhz dragonball processor - maybe 20x - I am not really sure. Hiarcs on the Palm has beaten Pocket Crafty on the Dell 3-0 in game 30 so far. PF2 and Genius on the Dell both beat the HIARCS on the Palm 1-0 so far at game 30. Keep in mind the Dell has 2x the horsepower of the Palm. This is with pondering on (units were plugged in) and with both unit overclocked. Chess Tiger is not yet optimized for the ARM, so I have nothing new to report there. The HIARCS playing style is clearly unique IMO and even at just 1 second per move with pondering off - it took me many games to beat it. Part of it perhaps was stubbornness on my part and trying to use my time tested methods that I use against Pocket Crafty and Genius. The other thing about it -- is that even if you set it for one second per move - it sometimes uses two seconds or so when its get into a tough position. When I the overclock the Zire 31, Genius can see 51K nps with 512K hash and overclock, it goes up to 68K nps. The HIARCS will run about half the nps -- but it is a completely different type of program with a lot of positional knowledge and pruning. For a machine that weighs in at 4.1 ounces, this is amazing.
