Shredder 9 certainly seems like an exciting anticipation. It might hopefully bring back good things of 7.04 which I think might have been missing from Shr.8.0. The best of both might then be that final achievement of a significant edge over all opposition which I have never yet seen in a singal program for a number of years. (Although 7.04 might have been almost that. But Genius 3 was once, so was Hiarcs 6 and 7). Let's hope Shredder 9 isn't a REgression, which has been seen in upgrades in chess history. S.Taylor
