Barry, Thanks for that information. At least now I know that it wasn't something I was doing wrong. Once again, it's a shame that the experience of using many excellent engines is being spoilt by an unreliable GUI, etc. I don't accept that most of these bugs are justifiable as part of the reality of producing software. Instead, their fundamental nature points more to a very poor testing strategy. And even if they could be justified, Chessbase's approach to supporting customers is pathetic. Gordon
