Experienced hardware testers on the internet have been doing this for years without any ill effects to their chips. it is true that the life of a chip may be reduced from 10 to 8 years but I wonder how many of us are planning to keep the same processor for 10 years? When there is so much debate about increasing the strength of a programme (by altering its playing style) ie by software manipulation hardware manipulation is compleely overlooked. As I said before i have got a tremendous boost by overclocking my celeron chip probably to pentium 450 levels of performance.(50%) increase from its original 300Mhz rated speed. Rajen Gupta
