After H. Conrady's surprising article in last CSS magazine 6/2004 I made also
short test myself. I played 2*100 games between Fritz8 and Shredder8. Conditions
P4 2,4 Ghz, 512MB RAM, predefined openings, ponder off, learn off, 60/5 games,
700MB of tablebases (CD1 of original Chessbase endgame
turbo).
Results:
Shredder (normal) - Fritz (normal) 57 - 43
Shredder (no TB access) - Fritz (normal) 51,5 - 48,5
So I can't confirm Conradys's result at all!
