No, it's called perpetual check and is only used by a computer if you are winning (So the computer wants to draw); if the computer has a very high draw contemp factor (I've seen Pharaon giving 3.00 score to a draw); or if you are facing a program that has no idea and sees that giving perpetual check will end the game soon. Please tell us what computer program are you using and we'll recommend a better one (Fruit and Prodeo are the best free ones IMHO [SMIRF is funnier though] but if you got money, you could try the chessbase family). Keep trying, Computer Chess is fun at some level :)
