Thanks!

I see that Deep Sjeng includes a Linux version, but before sending in my money,
there's one thing that troubles me:

A Linux executable won't work on my Mac unless either source code or an OS/X
binary are included.

On that site, they do make that distinction:

Deep Sjeng:
A linux version of the engine is included on the CD-ROM.

Ruffian:
Linux and Mac OS/X versions of the engine are included on the CD-ROM.

So ... has anyone used Deep Sjeng on a Mac? (other than under emulation)

Good point, but I want to stick to UCI engines for the moment.

Thanks,

-Richard
