Hi,

Since most humans know some kind of opening theory, they can play them without
thinking and saving them time for a lot of moves.

Depending on their knowledge this could be lots of free minutes towards the rest
of the game.

For the programs having a book, it emulates the humans knowledge of the opening
theory. This makes the program stronger by first eliminating the early blunders
and giving them more thinking time in the rest of the game.
So if learning the opening theory is good for the humans it is also good for the
program.

all the best
