you were brought up on a pc
i am 49, played rated games in tournaments for my University team and
correspondence chess after i graduated
we come to this forum from two very different perspectives
playing chess on a 2d board with a mouse and a pc screen is not chess
it is a video game

its the whole field of Dedicated chess computers VS PC chess software
