Why? Chess, is  like Golf, Music,  Art, Mathmatics, or any or creative endeavor
the goal, being enjoyment, self improvement, and self discovery.

For many others that cannot play or participate in these activities, have the
gift of appreciation.

Chess is far from dead..
The Silicon monster is a "Tool", nothing more, and we use it to enhance our own
knowledge of the game. IMO, it makes the game more exciting, not less!
