in the book "Blitz Theory" by Maxwell GM  Browne even makes the suggestion that
it is not illegal (although it might be considered unethical) to make your move
and then call out "check" to an opponent who is very short of time(less then
5-10 seconds)even though it is not check.this will cause the opponent to lose
precous time searching in vain for the check.usually if the "phantom" check is
timed just right..the opponents flag will fall
