FWIW...
I had such exceptions and other problems with Shredder8 on this computer running
XP Home (SP1) out of the box, which I upgraded a year later to SP2 using the
free MS CD.

Then, I very recently put in a new hard drive and reinstalled the op system
clean, updated the drivers from the manufacturer, then installed SP2 before
installing any of my application software such as Shredder8. Result: I no longer
have those kinds of problems with Shredder8.

Based on that, your problem with the Junior 9 exceptions could indeed be caused
by flaws in your op system. The MS op systems are built with service pack
updates such as SP1, SP2, and minor updates, which don't always install
correctly when various application software has already been installed on the
computer.

I still have one problem with Shredder8. When it's running, it uses 99%+ of
processor time, which prevents certain system operations from working correctly
(or extremely slowly). For example Windows Explorer may freeze occasionally.
Here's a solution that helps me, and might help you, if you're running Windows
XP (?)...

-- Ctrl-Alt-Delete to open the Windows Task Manager
-- select the Processes tab
-- rightclick the ChessProgram8.exe process (or whatever process Junior 9 uses),
Set Priority, BelowNormal
