You folks are not going to agree and I see merit in both of your arguments.

My $0.02

A drawscore is typically zero , as in 0.00 - sometimes it is shown as 0.01 and
I'm not sure why. On the other hand , a score 0.50 is clearly not a win and
very well may also lead to draw, perhaps slight advantage. For the most part
drawscore are not usually show unless one of the follwoing happens:

1. Draw by repetition
2, Draw by lack of material
3. Draw by 50 move rule.

And for programs using EGTB, if the position is a known draw, a drawscore may
also be displayed.

But there are lot draws where a drawscore is never displayed if the programs
have code to offer and accept draws. If not, a draw usually happens when one of
the 3 circumstances above happens when pr0grams play each other.

For an engine mot to see a drawscore in the position diagrammed is not relevant
imo. The program should see a drawscore when it sees of the 3 circumstances
above or a known drawn position in its endgame tablebase. That is all the
author should havbe to worry about with respect to drawscores. Anything else
and he is just wasting his time.

Ok - can we agree to move on ?

Thanks!

Michael
