This last Maxtor I had, 80GB 5400RPM lasted about 6 years! Most drives give out
in 3. I had bad experiences with WD. As far as the speed goes. Both companies
offer 1 year guarantee. Used to be 3 years :.(

Seagate offers 5 year which is outstanding compared to other companies

Do not forget when u install w2K that at first it will not recognize ALL your HD
space. Say u bought a 200GB HD. When you're version of Win is up and running it
will only see about 137 (incl. OS space) so then u have to upgrade your ver to
SP3 and then it'll see all of it BUT you have to merge the remaining space which
should be unformatted into the 137 u already have. I used Partion Magic 8 for
this and it does a way better job than Computer Management in WinXP Home Ed. Let
me know if you have any problems or questions.
