I have both Hiarcs and Genius for my Palm T5. I upgraded from a Palm Vx like
another here on this board. The T5 is very fast overall. Neither Hiarcs nor
Genius can take advantage of the larger screen resolution though they both still
look nice as they are. Both are strong, though I believe Hiarcs is significantly
stronger than Genius. Genius has slightly nicer pieces though.

Hiarcs has the ability to set an approximate ELO rating for the engine. This is
great for a patzer like me who loses handily to anything rated more than 1800
ELO. I can set it to 1300 ELO and trounce Hiarcs. I normally play it at 1600 ELO
and it gives me a real struggle; yes, I am a patzer.

Overall I give the T5 high marks; but compared to my Vx, almost anything would
have been a huge step up.

Ditto on the other poster's comments about finding Mark Uniacke online at
midnight in the UK. I requested my license and had it in minutes. Mark is very
helpful if you have problems / questions. I have had zero problems though with
Hiarcs (or Genius for that matter).

I hope you find this somewhat useful!

Roy
