a few years ago Andrew and Huber have shown I believe that up to 30 plies there is most likely no material win for white. The experiment took about 2 hours for Andrew. Andrew has said that if there is interest on this forum to take his experiment further, and find out if this holds true beyond 30 plies, he might look at it this weekend. http://www.talkchess.com/forums/2/message.html?151185 I believe that this experiment is worthwhile and can potentially come up with some shattering news about chess which would upset the coneventioanal wisdom on chess that it is a draw. could people who would like Andrew to conduct his experiment, show their interest, by posting a reply to: http://www.talkchess.com/forums/2/message.html?151665 saying that they would like him to do the experiment.
