If you think about it, these labels work just like folders, but better. I mean, what is a folder? It's a place where you can put e-mails in in order to organize your e-mails. Group them according to content or sender. One handy feature is that you can set up rules to automatically organize your fresh incomming (and sent) e-mail. You can do these things with gmail-labels also. But here is the kicker: you can apply multiple labels to a single e-mail! Group those e-mails according to sender _and_ content! Have a label for all work related e-mail, _and_ a label for that collegue who is also your best friend! I'd like to see someone try to put a single e-mail into multiple folders;-) (without duplicating it of course!) So in my humble opinion: labels are "folders 2.0". Greetz, Laurens.
