Crafty played in the last WCCC and the commercial had no problem with it.

I think that the commercial are not afraid of playing.
The reason that they do not play is simply that the tournament is not more
important than other tournaments like WBEC.

Shredder7.04 is participating and winning.
Junior and Fritz do not participate and the reason is not that they are afraid
to lose.

Now they can participate by supporting winboard or UCI.

They go to WCCC only because a tournament with human operators is simply more
important for the media relative to tournament that is played automatically in
the internet.
