Not really a "dedicated" chess computer this i agree with it is not a dedicated computer and nothing like a real Tasc computer as you mention the DGT board is a full sized wooden auto-sensory tournament board and it connects to the PC and will work with many current pc chess programs(Fritz,Shredder Cmaster etc.etc) the new XL clock also by DGT, can be connected to the DGT board to see the computers move and also position evaluation(when using the Arena GUI)but this still will not show clock times or the ply depth of the search and other information i object to looking at a PC screen and using a mouse etc.etc to play chess.i think it is not a normal way to play chess and interrupts my enjoyment of the game only the old dedicated computers can simulate the normal way to play chess for me with the Tasc computers you have much information all at your fingertips and no need for the dreaded PC screen,no mouse,no 2d representation of a chess board,etc.etc. btw..the very first dedicated computer to use a DGT or Tasc like board with no leds or lights on the board was the Fidlelity Elite Privat it was sold only in Germany and released in 1984 and rated about 1750 Elo: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/cpaa2@sbcglobal.net/detail?.dir=3353&.dnm=784e.jpg&.src=ph Best Steve
