James, Yes, the new update corrects the EGTB accesss problem for all engines as far as I can tell. I tested four engines. The gui8.iup file is dated as being created Jan 11, 2005 and is 8,906,610 bytes in size. I suggest that you save it in another folder so it is available for the next CB f--- up. As most know, the online upgrade will write over your existing gui8.iup file if it is in ChessProgram8 folder without warning you they are doing this. Pure hubris on their part. I wrote to info@chessbase.com about the problem yesterday and they replied as follows many hours ago: Dear Mr. Morgan Thanks for your mail. There will be a new upgrade for correct tablebase access this afternoon. Please login to playchess.com and run the online upgrade again.
