I used them because my grandfather really liked to do strange jokes on people. He would go to great lengths. As an example, he bought a bottle of Mercury and poured about 8 ounces into a cup and floated some nuts and bolts on it. Then he poured a bit of coffee on the top and showed it to my grandmother, "Mud, you made the coffee too strong." That should give you some idea. ;-)
